Music
I Love Music!!
I play clarinets (Bass, Bb, etc.), saxophones (Alto, Tenor, etc.), and flute. I try to take every opportunity to play, whether it’s classical solo rep, musical theater, or standard wind band rep. I enjoy listening to lots of music, especially musical theater.

Legally Blonde is my favorite musical – I’ve definitely listened to this album more than any other. Lots of great songs on here, but I tend to circle back to So Much Better and Legally Blonde + Legally Blonde – Remix the most. I highly recommend watching the MTV Pro-shot on YouTube you have the time. The music and the show are funny, uplifting, and packed with energy!
Really groovy (as a clarinetist, I might be a bit biased…), and Sharon Kam is one of my favorite clarinetists.
This group is a lot of fun, and this song always gives me a ton of energy.
One of the first major flute pieces I heard, and still one of my favorites (played here by one of my favorite flutists).
More musical theater (this number is from Heathers). I especially like the harmony at 1:38 and 1:41!
My Musical Journey
I started playing the clarinet in middle school concert band and began taking private lessons halfway through 8th grade. Knowing that I was starting later than most, I always put in extra effort to improve my fundamentals and learn new rep.
During high school, I was a three-time Florida All-State 1st clarinetist (Symphonic Orchestra Principal, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band). I played in my school’s marching band, concert band, and orchestra, as well as the Tampa Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, Pinellas Youth Symphony, and Bay Winds. I continued learning over the summer at music programs like Interlochen and Tanglewood. I also performed what are to this day some of my favorite solo clarinet pieces, such as Debussy’s Premiere Rhapsodie and Stravinsky’s 3 Pieces for Solo Clarinet.
I’ve continued to play while at Yale as Principal Clarinet in the Yale Concert Band and in a variety of other ensembles and pits, ranging from musical theater to opera to chamber. I currently take lessons through the Yale School of Music.
To get even more opportunities to play, I started saxophone while in high school and flute in early 2022. I’ve gotten to play flute and sax in several shows (along with clarinet, of course) here at Yale!

I’m not usually one for photos, but here are a few music pictures from over the years:
